Postaltubeshop.com Discusses Effective Poster-Packing Tips to Avoid Mail Damage
One of the best ways to transport these very delicate items is through the use of postal tubes. However, it does not only take putting them in mailing tubes, but the proper strategy of packing them will make a huge difference.
Tilbury, Essex -- (SBWire) -- 01/14/2016 --Some people are into collecting paintings and posters and some may be purchased from online shopping networks like eBay or Amazon while some artworks may be a gift or a keepsake from someone who lives across the globe. The very thing that concerns people is how to mail these pieces of art without damaging them during the mailing process.
Based on the experiences of most poster or painting collectors, most of their precious collections have been bent, torn, ripped, creased, folded, stained and rippled. It's not a really pretty picture seeing these collectibles devalued and wounded forever just because of poor mailing methods and techniques. Some of these items may be worth millions in a couple of years especially when maintained in perfect conditions.
One of the best ways to transport these very delicate items is through the use of postal tubes. However, it does not only take putting them in mailing tubes, but the proper strategy of packing them will make a huge difference.
Here are some of the tips and tricks to make your work of art and posters be at their perfect condition even after receiving them from the mail:
1. Having all the materials needed ready is the very first step. A thick and durable mailing tube that could not easily be bent will be a perfect choice. There is also a need to prepare a wide clear packing tape and stuffing materials like foam peanuts or bubble wrap and, more importantly, the long triangle-shaped box from the US Post Office to make the delivery express or priority mail.
2. It would be important to ensure that the poster or the painting doesn't slide around the tube so cutting the tube a little over the size of the porter's length will be better. It would not be a great idea to use a rubber band to secure the poster when it is rolled because they could damage the edges. The best technique is to simply slide the poster inside the tube and let it unravel so it fills up the empty space completely.
3. It would be advisable to put some padding at each end of the tube so as to prevent the poster from sliding and make sure that the tubes are perfectly sealed from both ends using a sturdy mailing tape then secure it with the plastic plug ends provided and secure them with clear tape so that it is secured.
4. The next phase would be inserting the tube inside the triangle-shaped box but it would be better to have the postal tube padded with bubble wrap inside the triangle box and seal it with packing tape.
5. Then the last thing that should be done is to hand-deliver the package to the post office. Some would prefer to have it insured to make sure that the package arrives the recipient on time and in the best condition.
