Elmwood Park Zoo Invites Visitors to Meet Their Animals in 2016
Norristown, PA -- (SBWire) -- 01/19/2016 --It's not every day that a red panda or a squirrel monkey is spotted in the valleys of Pennsylvania. But in the habitats of Elmwood Park Zoo, they are. The wildlife refuge is home to about 300 animals from various geographical areas of the world, where efforts are put in place to provide them with the utmost care and nurture. Visitors are invited to step into the world of various mammals, birds, amphibians, fish, reptiles and invertebrates to help the park continue its mission of inspiring active participation in conservation. By meeting the wildlife of the reserve, families can gain an educational insight to various animals and their natural environments.
Elmwood Park Zoo is not only one of the most entertaining things to do in Montgomery County, PA; it is also a non-profit entity that is dedicated to fostering an appreciation for wildlife. Some of the animals are only on exhibit for a limited time, so the opportunity to meet them is limited. Information about each animal can be found on the zoo's website at Elmwoodparkzoo.org. Every month, one of the animals are featured as "The Animal of the Month" to highlight their exhibit. December's animal was the reindeer, which encouraged visitors to adopt them and save 20% as part of the ZooParent Program.
Couples, families, students and friends can take a stroll through the walk-through safari where they will get to see some of the park's exclusive natives such as Noah the Bald Eagle and Stella the Great Horned Owl. Every animal at the reserve is provided with enrichment elements in their habitat which enhance their environment and stimulates their senses. When searching for things to do near the Philadelphia region, Elmwood Park Zoo is the ideal choice for entertainment and learning. For more details about their animals, call 800-652-4143.
