Act Tactical for Film: Combat Training and Tactical Acting Workshop Comes to Jacksonville
Jacksonville, FL -- (SBWire) -- 02/08/2016 --Jacksonville Film Workshops is hosting a new acting workshop in April. The two-day class will introduce actors to the basics of fighting and using weapons in film and television productions— learning how to fight, react, and move in a realistic manner. Participants are also introduced to how to handle a variety of prop weapons including knives and guns.
Day one of the training covers the basics of handling knives and firearms and the fundamentals of tactics. Students also will be introduced to hand-to-hand combat techniques that are used in many productions. Day two builds on these techniques as well as including S.W.A.T. tactics. By the end of this combat training for actors, students will be able to present themselves at auditions as knowledgeable, competent candidates for a variety of action-filled parts. Being able to add this experience to a resume is an excellent way to get parts in a wide variety of action movies and television shows.
This acting workshop is being taught by two highly experienced professionals who have years of combat and movie experience. Matt Clanton, who is also the founder of Act Tactical for Film has appeared in numerous film productions. As a former police officer, Mr. Clanton has first-hand experience with handling weapons and the common techniques employed by law enforcement personnel. He has considerable martial arts experience and has worked in the film industry for the last five years as a technical advisor and in front of the camera as well.
Jerome Teague, an accomplished martial artist and veteran of the U.S. Army, will also be on hand to offer students a rare opportunity to learn from his experience. His advanced knowledge of weaponry and tactics make him an asset to any actor who wants to learn combat acting skills.
Act Tactical for Film's workshop for Jacksonville will take place at the studio of Multiverse Media Group at 11655 Central Parkway #302 in Jacksonville, FL. The workshop course is being offered on April 9 and April 10. This combat training for actors runs from 9am to 6pm both days with a one-hour break for lunch between 1 and 2. Snacks and drinks will be provided and are included in the $250 cost of the acting workshop.
