CEO A. Harrison Barnes of Hound says that although not enough jobs are being created, Hound has been able to find 104,000 jobs across the country in the last seven days.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWire) -- 12/08/2010 -- The White House has warned that not extending jobless benefits will only result in more job losses in the country.

The denial of unemployment benefits could result in decreased consumer spending which in turn could lead to 600,000 job losses by the end of 2011. The data is from a White House study that ended in September. The study also showed that previous UI extensions had resulted in the creation of 800,000 jobs. If Congress fails to extend the jobless benefits then 2 million Americans will be without any benefits by December end and a total of 7 million by end of 2011.

Since the beginning of the recession in December 2007, Congress has approved unemployment extensions that as of December 2010 are helping 14 million jobless Americans. The White House estimates, that with including family members and dependents the number of Americans helped is up to 40 million. This figure also includes 10.5 million children. Republicans are blocking the benefits extension saying that the extension should be given only if there are cuts in other programs since they do not want to add to the national debt.
