Brexit Hit Recruitment Hard in July: GSR2R Comments
London, UK -- (SBWire) -- 08/24/2016 --A new survey suggests that Brexit hit recruitment harder than most in July, with the number of people securing permanent jobs in the UK falling for two consecutive months. Created by IHS Markit are job reports on a monthly basis, collecting data from 400 UK employment and recruitment firms, and recent data shows permanent placements fell in July at the steepest rate since back in May 2009. This is definitely an effect of Brexit.
The results from the most recent IHS Markit report also suggested that some clients of recruitment firms had started to use more short-term staff, however all are being urged to not to jump to any conclusions following one month's data, as this could just be short term impact. The truth is, no one knows what long-term impact is going to be caused by Brexit, and so for the time being, we should just continue as normal.
Despite the number of permanent places decreasing and short-term placements rising, it is also important to note that starting salaries have increased. It has been advised that all seeking employment, employ the services of a recruitment company, as this will much heighten the chances of employment in absolutely all sectors.
A spokesperson from leading rec to rec company GSR2R was keen to comment saying, "With almost 15 years' experience within the industry, even at this tough and uncertain time we are able to assist in ensuring the people are able to work in their chosen sectors, doing jobs that they are truly passionate about."
