Hatfield, PA -- (SBWire) -- 09/02/2016 --Montgomeryville Cycle Center, regarded as one of the top motorcycle dealers in Philadelphia, is sponsoring an upcoming Guinness World Record event. Starting on Sept. 5, three riders will attempt to set the world record for longest journey on a pocket bike.

Americans Michael Reid and Chris Fabre and Icelander Sigríður Ýr Unnaisdòttira will begin their 1,500-mile journey beginning at Start Skydiving, the top-ranked skydiving drop zone in the United States, in Middletown, OH and ending at the Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally in Mescalero, NM on Sept. 17.

Fabre will ride his personal pocket bike, while Montgomeryville Cycle Center is providing Reid and Unnaisdòttira with Honda CRF-50s for their attempt. The three riders are projected to trek 150 miles per day across nine states including Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico.

The previous record is held by Bean're, who is the author of the book "Motorcycle Nomad" and rode 1,407.6 miles from Louisville, KY to Sturgis, SD.

During this event, Homes for Troops, a privately-funded non-profit organization, will be financially supported. This group constructs mortgage-free, specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans post-9/11 to help them get their lives back on track.
