Storm of Apocalyptic Proportions Hit Manchester: The Safe Deposit Centre Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWire) -- 09/26/2016 --Following one of the hottest days of the year so far 13.09.2016 saw freak weather conditions across Manchester and Lancashire with thunder crying out from the blackened skies and lighting striking non-stop for hours. Torrential rainfall and violent storms caused chaos throughout the region, causing flooding and power cuts which affected many homes and businesses. In the north west of England around 20,000 properties were left in complete darkness because of the power outages, with some towns being left pitch black due to the absence of street lights and traffic lights also.

With the Metrolink suspending all tram lines, Manchester airport diverting all incoming flights and the Manchester City's Champions League game being postponed, it is clear the storms were detrimental to many, however, all power was back running by the following morning and the sun was shining once again. The flooding during the storm in Manchester however affected many businesses in the city including Harvey Nichols department store are more, and also numerous homes were flooded in the area.

A spokesperson from The Safe Deposit Centre was keen to comment saying, "Although the mammoth storm was pretty spectacular to watch, with many people taking photographs and sharing on social media, people who perhaps did not have the most efficient safety and security measures in place have been sadly effected, with homes and businesses flooding and resulting in people losing not only items of high monetary value but also precious, irreplaceable items such as family heirlooms. Now could be a good time for all to look to rent a safe deposit box, and make sure that they are well prepared for if another freak storm should come."
