Acellus Releases Math Courses for Special Education Programs
New Acellus Courses Incorporate Specially Designed Instruction to Meet the Needs of Students with Disabilities
Independence, MO -- (SBWire) -- 01/27/2011 -- The International Academy of Science today announced the release of additional Acellus courseware for use in special education programs. The courses have been developed to aid Special Needs Students in mastering academic skills while still incorporating the rigor of standards-based courses, thus enabling students to approach and even meet grade-level standards.
Acellus can be easily incorporated into IEPs for those students classified as Special Education students under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Acellus incorporates Specially Designed Instruction to meet the unique educational needs of students with disabilities and to help them develop to their maximum potential.
Special Education Courses available include:
- Essential Math – designed to build basic understanding of math concepts
- Pre-Algebra – basic introduction to algebraic concepts
- Algebra I – teaches basic principles, rules, and operations of working with algebraic expressions
- Reading – uses scientific methods of teaching reading by developing phonemic awareness, concept imagery, expectancies, and sight words
