Economy Shows Signs of Recovery With 192,000 Jobs Created in February, Hound Finds 178,000 Jobs

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWire) -- 03/11/2011 -- In the strongest sign of the jobs market improving, the Labor Department’s jobs report showed that there were a net total of 192,000 jobs created in February.
The unemployment rate now stands at 8.9 percent, which is the lowest since April 2009. The private sector created 222,000 jobs while state and local governments laid off 30,000 workers. The number of employees at the federal level stayed the same.
Most of the jobs, around 122,000, were created in the service sector. But the construction sector also added around 33,000 jobs. Another report, the ISM manufacturing report says that over 57,000 manufacturing jobs were also created in February.
