Coleford, Gloucestershire -- (SBWire) -- 08/24/2017 --Penda, an inter-disciplinary team of creatives founded by Chris Precht and Dayong Sun, has recently collaborated with leading wood consultants from CLT-brand Timber and in turn revealed the design of 'Tree Tower Toronto'. This design encompasses an 18-story timber-framed mixed-use residential skyscraper which is planned to be placed in Canada's largest city.

The tower which has been designed to be made of wood and plants it anticipated to create an interesting contrast in the city currently full of steel, concrete and glass. The building could be a model for environmental friendly developments and sustainable extensions for the urban landscape.

The tower once created will reach a height of 62 meters and still comprise over 5,000 square meters. The building will be home to residential units, as well as public areas including cafes, day-care centers and community workshops.

To make the design turn into a reality prefabricated CLT panels will be assembled off-site and craned into place once the foundations are set. This method of construction, otherwise known as modular, is becoming increasingly popular and is set to change the way the construction industry moves going forward.
