White House Panel Says That Economic Stimulus Created 3.6 Million Jobs, Hound Finds 186,000 Jobs

The Council released its latest quarterly report regarding the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The report claims that the Recovery Act played a vital role in supporting the economy.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWire) -- 03/25/2011 -- The White House appointed Council of Economic Advisors has said that by the fourth quarter of 2010, the Recovery Act had created between 2.5 to 3.6 million jobs.

The Council released its latest quarterly report regarding the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The report claims that the Recovery Act played a vital role in supporting the economy. It says that the Act accounted for 3.2 percent of fourth quarter GDP growth.

Other key findings from the report say that GDP has kept growing for six consecutive quarters, which includes the fourth quarter of 2010. Public investment of $142 billion has been spent on infrastructure projects and clean energy projects.

The report, which was released on March 18, has not found a lot of favorable response from most media outlets. A major reason is that there are still 13 million unemployed. But private employers nationwide are still hiring in considerable numbers. Hound, a job search engine has been able to find over 186,000 jobs in the last seven days.
