While details around the voluntary NHTSA program are not finalized, the issue of child restraint safety is already a priority at Nissan of Visalia, which has led the industry through its Snug Kids™ program.

To address the need for increased compatibility between vehicles and child restraint systems, NHTSA recently announced that it would establish a new consumer information program to disseminate a list of child restraints that vehicle manufacturers suggest fit properly in their individual vehicles on Safercar.gov.
