Suga-lumps Instead of Socks This Father’s Day Now There’s a Sweet Idea
Haworth, West Yorkshire -- (SBWire) --05/26/2011 --You know what it’s like – when it comes to Mother’s Day it’s easy to think of loads of lovely gifts. But there’s something about dear old dad that just makes it harder to be creative, meaning you end up simply adding to his bulging sock drawer every Father’s Day. Sound familiar? Then look no further – help is at hand.
The brains behind the greetings card phenomena Disco Diva, Groovy Chick and GoochiCoo, Ged Backland, now brings us a new way of letting the people we love the most know just how special they are to us.
“We call it ‘making life a little bit sweeter’, as it’s all about passing on lovely feelings,” commented Ged, referring to his latest creation Suga-Lumps.
The idea came quite simply from the little loving notes – or ‘Suga-Lumps’ as they refer to them – that Ged and his wife Kaely have left one another over the last 10 years. The gentle humour and off-beat tone that form the basis of these notes combined with Backland Studio’s cute artwork have resulted in almost 200 different greetings cards being designed so far.
Before long, they realised that it would be a nice idea to give loved ones a longer – and more permanent – message, and so the gift books were created.
“We’ve written 8 individual gift books that are suitable for various occasions and for many of the important people in our lives,” continued Ged. And the latest addition to the Suga-Lumps family, ‘You’re a lovely Dad because’, comes just in time for Father’s Day.
The books, published by Ebury Press (Random House), are available at Asda, Waterstones and Amazon as well as other book retailers.
“We are delighted to be able to assist with the age-old dilemma of what to give your dad on Father’s Day!” said Ged.
