Divine Arts Media to Release Fourth Book In New Series

The Shaman & Ayahuasca: Journeys to Sacred Realms

Saluda, NC -- (SBWire) --06/13/2011 --Divine Arts Media announces the July 2011 release of The Shaman & Ayahuasca: Journeys to Sacred Realms, the only book of its kind written by a practicing shaman, Don José Campos.

Campos is an internationally known Peruvian shaman or curandero (SAY koo-rahn-de-ro) and authority on Ayahuasca (SAY Aya-wass-ka), a psychoactive vine-based plant brew widely known throughout South America for its healing and visionary properties. The book was written in collaboration with a team lead by acclaimed filmmaker Michael Wiese (say We-see), who also created a companion film documenting their experiences with Campos and Ayahuasca.

Respect for the healing, nutritional, and spiritual power of plants is at the heart of The Shaman & Ayahuasca. Seeking healing for symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, Wiese traveled to Peru to study Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca is called a 'plant teacher' because it is known to heal physical, psychological, and emotional ills and provide patients with transformative insights. Wiese journeyed to the home of Campos to experience firsthand the healing and transformative aspects of Ayahuasca. Translated by Alberto Roman, a healing arts practitioner and musical collaborator, and edited and compiled by Geraldine Overton-Wiese, Wiese's wife and collaborator with Campos, The Shaman & Ayahuasca: Journeys to Sacred Realms juxtaposes the shaman's teachings with the experiences of his visitors.
