London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/16/2016 -- RAC recently revealed that rescue call outs have hit a ten year high for damaged caused by potholes and crumbling roads, with the number of pothole related breakdowns rising by 125% when comparing data from 2006 to 2016.

With data showing that 22,000 drivers were recovered by RAC after being left stranded due to damage caused by potholes, it is thought that if a similar pattern was to affect the rest of Britain's motorists, whom are not member of RAC, over 230,000 drivers could have been drastically affected by the state of the nation's broken roads. Tyres topped and damaged wheels topped the reasons why people had to make callouts after incident with potholes, closely followed by car's suspension components breaking, which are vital for road holding safety.

A spokesperson from leading van and car hire company Fair Rent was keen to comment saying, "It is so sad to see so many people having to deal with damage caused to their cars cause by potholes, especially seen as though a lot of peoples cars of their pride and joy. Many of the pothole issues are hopefully going to be fixed by 2021 and unless you absolutely need to purchase a car before then, you could consider hiring on an ad hoc basis."
