New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/04/2014 -- Ready to Go Recipes for Cooks with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) is a cookbook that has been written FOR teenagers & adults living with ASD. The cookbook contains gluten free &dairy free recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks & drinks. Each recipe is written in a task analysis format, in order to promote independence with food preparation. The purpose in writing this book is for individuals who have ASD, or similar profiles, to develop a hobby of cooking, as well as to begin to develop a sense of self-reliance through capable cooking.

This book will develop life skills, independence, hobby development & social skills. The need for Kickstarter Contributors is for book design & photographic illustrations. People with ASD learn visually. Therefore, actual real-life photos are needed to make this book a successful tool. People with ASD struggle to predict & plan with their mind's eye, as most of us do with ease. The funds will be used to hire a Book Designer and pay for the costs to design the visual content of the book.
