New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/22/2011 -- After the success of the first ever kid talent contest, WAT-AAH! announces the much anticipated second season of Show Me WAT-YOU-GOT! This competition encourages kids ages 5 to 17 to flaunt their natural abilities in sports, music, dance, and all creative talents in between, competing for a chance to be the next “WAT-AAH! SUP-AAH! Star”.
The first season of WAT-YOU-GOT! launched in June of 2010, with 5,000 participants, gaining over half a million hits on YouTube and close to one million comments, likes, and impressions on WAT-AAH!’s Facebook page. Thousands of contestants showed off their talents and WAT-AAH!’s Facebook page allowed fans to vote for their favorite videos in order to determine the winners. Among the winners was the musically gifted 12-year-old, Savannah Robinson, who serenaded WAT-AAH! fans with her rendition of Beyonce’s song “Listen” which led to multiple appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres show and a signed contract with Ellen’s record label, eleveneleven.
The second season of WAT-YOU-GOT! is expected to be even larger and starts off with its official commercial. Continuing the use of all major social media outlets (i.e., Facebook and Twitter), WAT-AAH! will also promote using print and viral ad campaigns, teen networking sites and bloggers, and conducting the contest live at WAT-AAH! sponsored events. All contestants are encouraged to upload their videos into the appropriate category, Music, Dance, Sport, or Cool Tricks at www.youtube.com/watyougot2. The contest begins Tuesday, July 12, 2011, and ends September 30. Finalists will be announced on October 14, 2011 based on most likes, comments, views, and overall positive feedback from fans on Facebook. The winners will be hand picked by a panel of celebrity judges and big name talent agents with the chance to win cash prizes up to $10k.
“Because of the first season’s success, the demand for Show Me WAT-YOU-GOT! Season Two was incredible!” says Rose Cameron, CEO of WAT-AAH! “Once again, we want to have fun and influence kids to remain active and creative over their summer vacations as well as provide an outlet for them to become stars,” she adds.
