New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/18/2011 -- The FamilyPet network has announced that it has named Kevin Masterson as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for its family of companies. In his role, Masterson will be responsible for overseeing the overall technological direction of FamilyPet.com and its sister companies, which include Petsitting.com, LocalDogWalker.com, Coupaw.com and many other pet-related properties.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kevin Masterson to our team at the FamilyPet Network," said Jared Katz, VP of Business Development for FamilyPet.com. "He brings years of measured IT success to our group, and we could not be more excited about bringing him on board."
With over 15 years of experience in information technology, including web experience that dates back to the late 1990s, Masterson has worked with a number of large, successful companies on a wide array of IT concepts. He has contributed both as an employee and as an IT consultant to major brands such as Mortgage.com, USAprescription.com, Burger King and many others.
In addition to his work with start-ups and high-profile companies and websites, Masterson has also owned and operated Internet companies, something that will be invaluable in his work with the mostly web-based businesses under the FamilyPet umbrella.
"Kevin brings a unique set of skills to this position, which ultimately will help our customers find the pet care and other services they need," Katz said. "The quality of service we provide starts with the team that we have in place."
Most recently, Masterson wrapped up an 18-month project with restaurant giant Burger King. He also owns a business in Los Angeles, where he designed and built a rugged ready computer kit that utilized custom tablet and iPhone applications to collect payroll and other vital information on Hollywood TV and movie sets.
Masterson's appointment as CTO will begin effective immediately.
