Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and the Seventh Annual Dallas Sporting Clay Shoot
Lewisville, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/02/2011 -- Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children(TSRHC) patients, families and friends gathered at annual Sporting Clay Shoot event featuring live and silent auction. Novice and professional shooters were invited to participate. This year’s event included a complimentary lunch for participants, a live auction and awards presentation. Participant categories for the event included junior shooter (16 or younger), individual shooter and corporate sponsor team.
The event took place on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Elm Fork Shotgun Sports located at 10751 Luna Road in Dallas, Texas.
TSRHC former patients participated in the event.One patient, a former amputee patient, credits the hospital has helped him with self-confidence and determination to reach milestones in his life, such as surviving middle school, learning how to walk with two prosthetic legs, how to drive a car, graduating from high school and marriage. Another former patient was treated at TSRHC in 1947 when he was 2 years old and spent more than a decade at the hospital in its earliest days.
