Miami, FL-- (SBWIRE) -- 09/07/2011 -- Amelia Rose Boland, will be showing her collection “seen and not heard” at Nolcha Fashion Week: New York, an award-winning global platform advancing the business of independent fashion this September. “Seen and not heard” is a nod towards the inner child in each of us with a playful but focused take on the clothing of children and dolls, and the effect that their size and proportion have on the female silhouette. Nolcha is going into its’ tenth season this year, and is proud to have an international designer showcasing her collection in New York on September 12th. The LC Media Group working closely with Nolcha is excited to have Amelia on board for this event and is confident of her success in New York.
Amelia, an Otago Polytechnic fashion graduate from New Zealand, has already stepped out onto the fashion platform in her country. Her career started when she was a little girl by making dresses for shows in high school, but picked up in 2003 when she won Bernina Fashion Awards among 400 applicants. More recently, Amelia was one of the designers selected to show at ID Dunedin Fashion Week 2011 which showed her collection as an expression of duality, contrast, proportion and beauty. As a young emerging designer, she already has been featured in vogue.com for Australia and with her upcoming show at Nolcha Fashion Week: New York, she has already been in the news spotlight quite a bit starting from interviews on local radio to even being featured on the news back at home. As the date for this event is soon approaching, Amelia is working hard putting the finishing touches for her breathtaking collection. Her theme for the designs is blurred between the innocence of youth and the sensuality of womanhood and this is portrayed through showing lingerie, sheer fabric and form fitting items along with soft, floating pieces and engulfing jackets with boisterous bows. “It will be an amazing experience” says Boland. It will most definitely be an interesting show and captivate the attention of the audience; Nolcha can’t wait for everyone to see this young designer’s elegant pieces on the runway.
