Brent Tartamella, CCM (Certified Club Manager), CCE (Certified Chief Executive) General Manager of The Westmoor Club in Nantucket, MA was elected President of the New England Club Managers Association (NECMA), the original chapter of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) at its annual meeting held at Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord, MA.
Brent Tartamella, CCM has been serving as the General Manager of The Westmoor Club since 2004. Prior to the appointment, he served Assistant General Manager of the Philadelphia Cricket Club, Manager of Restaurant Operations at the Chevy Chase Club, Clubhouse Manager at Baltimore Country Club and Assistant Manager at The Country Club.
Mr. Tartamella joined CMAA in 1992 as a Student Member at the University of Massachusetts. He achieved his CCM designation in 1999 and at the time was the youngest person to receive the designation. He is a member of the Wine Society, was named to the CMAA Honor Society in 2006 and has been recertified. Mr. Tartamella serves as the Education Chairman and served as Wine Society Co-Chair in 2007, and was elected as Vice President in 2009 and re-elected in 2010. He is also a former NECMA Director (1996-1999) as well as a former Director of the Greater Baltimore Chapter and the Philadelphia Club Foundation.
As President, Mr. Taramella will continue with NECMA members to develop and promote high standards of professionalism in private club management, and further uphold the NECMA mission statement: to provide education to persons connected with the management of clubs and other associations of similar character, to promote and encourage efficient and successful club management, and to advance friendly relations among its members.
