Beijing, China -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/07/2011 -- The largest toy fair of mainland China, China Toy Expo, was ended with great success on October 14th, 2011 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Over the three day period, the expo, together with two concurrent events, China Kids Expo and China Licensing Show, were estimated to have over 55,000 buyers, trade guests, retailers and visitors in total from worldwide for attendance (2010:50,719).
Organized by China Toy & Juvenile Products Association (TJPA), China Toy Expo, the International Trade Fair for Toys & Hobby Articles, has been successfully held for ten years. As an important trade event in global toy industry, China Toy Expo provides a wide range of sourcing opportunities in toys, juvenile products, hobby and licensing. On this year’s event, China Kids Expo, the China International Baby Carriers & Baby Articles Fair, and China Licensing Show, were hold independently for the first time. The shows were reported to have 850 exhibitors, over 3,000 booths and 61,500sqms of exhibit area, increased 8%, 39% and 41% over last year respectively.

During the past ten years, we witnessed 10 times growth in the event scale, the large increase in the amount of Chinese manufacturers and the great improvement on the quality of the products. According to the latest China’s customs figures, the total exports of Chinese toys in the first nine months reached 17.588 billion US dollars, increased 16.93% over last year. As Chinese enterprises speeded up the upgrading of products’ quality, innovation, as well as companies’ competitiveness, the total toy export value is still in the growth in spite of the rising raw material price and labor cost, as well as not promising European economy.
2011 China Toy Expo & Kids Expo, as the biggest toy & juvenile products trade shows in Chinese mainland, had attracted the largest number of Chinese manufacturers for exhibit to build brand image and explore business opportunities, and it had proved to be a great success. The leading and medium-sized toy and juvenile products companies from over 20 centralized production regions of China, such as Chenghai, Shenzhen, Yunhe and Dongguan etc as Group Pavilions, brought their unique and creative products for showcasing on the event. Products on display included dolls, plastic & electronic toys, wooden toys, baby strollers, car seats, playground equipments and hobby models, etc.
The direct attendance of large number of manufacturers & factories draw even more attention from Chinese and overseas buyers to the event Compared with last year, the number of international buyers, coming from 108 countries and regions, had increased 39%. Besides Bartl GmbH, Carrefour, Wal-Mart, Woolworths, 360sourcing and others who have already attended the expo for several years, there were more new faces coming including Idee + Spiel, GIFI, Baby Way and so on. On the other side, the Chinese buyers, such as the sales agents, major shopping malls from 32 provinces and over 210 major cities, chain stores and large toy distribution centers actively participated and made purchase on the event.
