GM's Silver Lining for Spring Hill Workers, Hound Finds over 13,000 Jobs in Tennessee

Tennessee workers would have high hopes again because of the move General Motors has taken.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) --11/25/2011 -- Tennessee workers would have high hopes again because of the move General Motors has taken. GM's Spring Hill plant plans to employ 700 workers by next year.

GM has planned to bring these jobs back to its idled assembly plant in Spring Hill for work on any of the company's cars whenever extra production is needed. The firm has also invested $244 million over two phases. This will create nearly 1,900 jobs at the former Saturn plant outside Nashville.

Another 1,200 jobs are likely to be added by 2015 by General Motors. This would be a result of the $183 million investment made by the firm to make unspecified midsized vehicles. On the contrary, Environmental Protection Agency has been making unreasonable regulations. These regulations will result in a loss of 340,000 jobs nationwide. While in Tennessee, the cost to businesses to comply with this rule will be $530 million.
