Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/07/2011 -- West German BMW near Philadelphia is proud to announce the arrival of the newly redesigned 2012 BMW 1 Series and 3 Series. These vehicles are set to come standard with BMW’s new ECO PRO technology. Part of the manufacturer’s set of EfficientDynamics fuel-saving innovations, the ECO PRO driving mode enables drivers to reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%.
With the flip of a switch, drivers can choose to drive in ECP PRO mode. When activated, the technology optimizes engine settings, gear recognition, and shifting. Heating and air conditioning is adjusted to provide the most performance at the best efficiency.
A dashboard display alerts the driver to which BMW EfficientDynamics functions are operating and shows fuel economy and miles saved. The ECO PRO system also displays alerts to help drivers improve fuel efficiency by pointing out such bad habits as long braking and fast acceleration.
Other BMW EfficientDynamics technology, including an automatic start-stop function, brake energy regeneration, and on-demand power for ancillary components, also works to reduce fuel consumption on BMW’s 2012 models.
