Staunton Nissan is excited to announce the first Nissan Leaf delivery in the Shenandoah Valley to local Virginia customer Stephen Bailey.
Staunton, VA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/21/2011 -- Staunton Nissan is proud to announce the delivery of the first Nissan Leaf in the Shenandoah Valley to a Virginia customer. The all-electric Leaf is scheduled to be delivered the week of 12/19/11.
At this exciting ceremony, Staunton Nissan will present Stephen Bailey, a local Electrical Engineer with the keys to the first mass produced 100% electric car in automotive industry.
The EV offers benefits to both customers and the environment with no tailpipe resulting in no harmful emissions. The Leaf is extremely efficient, running purely on electric power for an average range of 100 miles with the equivalent of an EPA fuel economy rating of 99 miles per gallon city/hwy when compared to a gasoline operated vehicle. It also offers the roominess of a traditional hatchback and many luxurious features. Standard amenities include a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, heated exterior mirrors, and a battery heater.
The Leaf’s battery completely eliminates the added expense of gasoline and can be charged in as little as 30 minutes at a quick-charge commercial station or overnight via a charging station installed in the home with a 208-240V 40 amp dedicated circuit. Another financial benefit added by the EV is a $7,500 federal tax credit awarded to those who choose this green vehicle over many other traditional, gasoline-powered options. Safety is not compromised either with its 5-star crash test rating by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. Leaf also received the 2011 World Car of the Year award by an international panel of automotive journalists.
