Suzhou HiPro to Expand Bio-polyamide Capacity

Suzhou HiPro will expand its bio-polyamides capacity to 15,000t/a in Q3 2012, according to Biomaterials China News.

Guangzhou, Guangdong -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/05/2012 -- The first issue of Biomaterials China News published by CCM International indicates that Suzhou HiPro Polymers Co., Ltd. (Suzhou HiPro), a leading enterprise specialized in production and marketing of bio-polyamide (bio-nylon) from castor oil, will launch a new production line with capacity of 10,000t/a in Q3 2012.

Suzhou HiPro started the construction of the new production line on June 16, 2011 and might continue expanding its bio-polyamide capacity in the next several years. Mr. Dong, sales manager from Suzhou HiPro introduced that its bio-polyamide output may increase from about 1,000 tonnes in 2010 to about 1,600 tonnes in 2011, thanks to the gradually increasing demand from some high-end products, such as superior automobiles and electronic products.

As the largest bio-polyamide producer in China, Suzhou HiPro is very confident on the development prospect of bio-polyamide, especially in China.

Although average sales price of bio-polyamide is two-three times of that of oil-based polyamide, biopolyamide has the following advantages.

As an environmental friendly material, bio-polyamide may be more popular in domestic automobile industry, electronic products industry and plastic industry.

Currently, China is the second largest castor seed production country in the world and China's castor seed output volume accounts for 20% of the total in the world, which can provide sufficient raw material for domestic bio-polyamide producers.
