Eton Institute is offering a Klingon with a wide range of languages that are already available in the UAE’s largest training Institute.
Dubai, UAE -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/03/2012 -- Eton Institute has decided to go where no school has gone before. The already wide range of languages available through the UAE’s largest training Institute is about to be further expanded to include Klingon.
Star Trek fans across the world know Klingon as the language used by the warriors in the cult films and TV series. Having its own distinctive characteristics and warrior expressions, this “alien” language was developed by Marc Okrand for Star Trek: the Movie, and it is the only man-made language to have actually been adopted and developed by an entire community of fans across the globe.
Moaz Khan, Marketing Manager at Eton Institute says: “Every community or group has its own rules and over time it develops its own distinctive language, expressions and subculture. Klingon is no exception to this. Learning a language is as much about the culture as the grammar. It can be really fun and what better way to illustrate this than by offering Klingon on social platforms like Facebook and Twitter.”
“What many people don’t know is that, as well as in Star Trek itself, classics such as Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ and ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ have been translated into this improbable language and brought to the stage, and a whole host of online resources such as translation tools and other material spanning from films, to books, operas ... have developed around it.”
“Our mission here at the Eton Institute is to offer the widest possible selection of languages and to continue to expand this, whether they are terrestrial or intergalactic. We are planning on offering more and more courses, as well as geographical expansion over the next few years. Space is our final frontier!”
Eton Institute’s Klingon lessons will run for a week, starting on 25th of April till 1st of May 2012, on Facebook and Twitter. Short lessons and proverbs in Klingon will be beamed up to Facebook and Twitter daily for fans, who can also take part in a Klingon competition and win fantastic prizes.
