Includes Support for Apple Macintosh Intel Hardware
Glendale, WI -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/09/2009 -- Binary Research International Inc (BRI) and Big Bang LLC announced today the availability of Big Bang’s Universal Imaging Utility (UIU) version 4.5, the leading product in the hardware-independent imaging space. BRI is the authority on cloning and migration, having been part of the company that created the industry-leading cloning solution now known as Symantec Ghost. Big Bang is the pioneer of single-Image cloning, having released its Universal Imaging Utility solution in 2004.
Version 4.5 of the UIU was developed specifically to support Microsoft Windows 7 and Apple Macintosh Intel-based hardware via Apple Boot Camp. The UIU continues to support Windows Vista and XP, working alongside a User’s existing cloning software to provide an out-of-the-box, hardware-independent solution. Compatible third-party products include Microsoft Deployment toolset, Symantec Ghost, Altiris, Acronis and ZENworks. Employing the UIU in conjunction with just one of these applications enables Users to create a single hardware-independent master Image of a Windows computer. This single Image can then be deployed across disparate hardware platforms, easing system deployment, maintenance, upgrades, rollouts and migrations, as well as disaster recovery efforts. The vanguard software application enables error-free deployment to every desktop, laptop and tablet PC in the business environment.
“The release of a Windows 7-compatible version of the Universal Imaging Utility provides IT personnel with a reliable tool to help them deploy and rollout their systems,” said Jim Szopinski, Vice President of Marketing, Binary Research International. “No other software solution does what the UIU does and we are pleased that so many successful organizations have chosen the Universal Imaging Utility as part of their hard drive cloning and system management toolkit.”
“UIU is a massive time saver,” said Travis Johnson, PC Support and Imaging Specialist at Hyland Software. “Building a PC by hand can take an entire day assuming there are only few interruptions. UIU enables me to ‘ghost’ the unit to the current approved image in a matter of a couple hours; all the while I can address other issues.”
The Universal Imaging Utility remains the only hardware-independent solution that includes ongoing maintenance for the driver database. Missing or incorrect device drivers are the primary reason for cloning failures. This will always be the case as manufacturers continue to release new NICs, sound and video cards, chipsets and other components.
Licensing for the UIU is per-seat, based on the number of computers that receive an Image prepared with the UIU, and it is perpetual, meaning a licensed computer can be re-imaged without requiring an additional license. Pricing starts at $20.14 per-seat for 100 computers and drops to $9.12 for 5,000 or more licenses.
