Bangalore, Karnataka -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/12/2010 -- TNT Express announces the worldwide launch of its new Express Import system which gives customers complete control over their import shipments. This web-based tool lets companies order the collection of import shipments from around 170 countries with quotations and billing in their local currency to better control shipping costs.
TNT’s system enhances its current Express Import services and is available to all customers regardless the type or size of their business, and whether they are sourcing finished goods or spare parts from multiple suppliers around the world.
One unique feature of TNT’s Express Import system is the option to request a quotation before the booking is completed. This means customers can effectively decide when their import shipment will arrive and at what cost. TNT ships the goods via its ground or air network, depending on the customer’s budget and timeline requirements. Express Import is available with any of TNT’s core delivery services: 9:00 Express, 10:00 Express, 12:00 Express, Express and Economy Express.
TNT’s Express Import system not only offers greater control, it is convenient to use and highly automated. The importing customer enters orders online and connects to the sender via email. TNT takes care of language barriers, produces the necessary paperwork for the sender, and handles collection, transportation, customs clearance as required and delivery of the consignment to the designated address.
To speed up orders and communication between receiving customers and senders, the Express Import system also features the following:
An address book, which suppresses the need to retype details of recurring orders.
A repeat order function that lets the customer repeat orders in seconds.
An overview of all import orders issued and their current status.
The system is available in many languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Chinese.
“TNT aims to make importing easier for its customers,” says Jan Willem Breen, Director Marketing and Sales, TNT Express. “Our new system offers them greater control, speed and automation, wherever they may be importing from in the world. Our customers will access our Express Import system through TNT’s online customer interface, myTNT. Senders are only required to have Internet access and email to connect to the system to complete the order. TNT will collect the shipment once the order information is validated by the system and the order is approved by the receiver. Importing has never been more efficient”, he adds.
TNT Express transports several million import consignments every year. Partly due to the rise of China, India, and other emerging economies for production, import demand has grown faster than export demand for TNT.
