Qualstar will start shipping LTO 5 tape media, service prices and fiber-channel tape drives from 26th April, 2010. Qualstar will increase the production of its XLS- 810240 and XLS-810160 libraries.
Fremont CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/12/2010 -- Qualstar has added the high capacity LTO 5 tape media, service prices and fiber-channel tape drive to its XLS Quote Tool. Qualstar will start shipping these LTO-5 tape products from 26th April, 2010. Availability of LTO-5 for the RLS and TLS will soon be announced by Qualstar.
LTO-5 tape format offer massive capacity of 1.5TB at impressive data rate of 140 Mbps (native). Compression mechanism doubles both these figures. Advanced LTO5 drive reads LTO-3 cartridges, and reads and writes LTO-4 media tapes.
Qualstar has shipped more units of XLS- 810240 and XLS-810160 Enterprise tape libraries than it had actually planned. Qualstar has a much larger amount of outstanding proposals and quotes than it had expected soon after the launching of these high performance XLS enterprise libraries. Qualstar has made adjustments to their plans, so that they can deliver more units of these XLS libraries in time.
