P1 Groupe Drivers Roar Into Lime Rock Park For Grand Am's Memorial Day Classic

P1 Groupe, the premiere motorsports management company is proud to announce that three of its top drivers – Dion von Moltke, Owen Trinkler, and Matt Bell - will be racing at GRAND-AM’s Memorial Day Classic this weekend at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT

Altamonte Springs, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/02/2010 -- Nineteen year old racing sensation, Dion von Moltke will be racing Saturday, May 29th at 3:00 PM in the Continental Tire Challenge driving #62 Mitchum Motorsports Camaro and again on Monday, May 31st at 2:00 PM in the Rolex Series with #77 Doran Racing-Ford/Dallara. Top star Owen Trinkler will be taking part in the Continental Tire Challenge on May 29th at 10:30 AM in #196 RSR Motorsports Mini Cooper S. Rising star, Matt Bell will also be racing Saturday in the Continental Tire Challenge on Saturday at 3:00 PM in #6 Stevenson Camaro. This weekend’s race is the first after a four week hiatus for GRAND-AM and is expected to attract record crowds and is this fifth round of the 2010 GRAND-AM Series season.

"P1 Groupe is committed to the success of our drivers, and as the season has worn on, our drivers have been paying us back with great results for us and their sponsors which is all we can ask. All our drivers are poised for great results this weekend and am confident they all have a shot at the podium in both Rolex and Continental this weekend. Dion will be pulling double duty this weekend in the Mitchum Motorsports Camaro to start the weekend and finishing it off with the DP. I think he has a real shot at a top-5 or podium in both races which has us pretty excited. Dion has a great record in Continental and always gets up to speed quickly, so we have ultimate confidence in how this weekend will go for him. Matt and Owen have been in their Continental cars all season so getting acclimated to the car is no issue and both have a lot of time on the Lime Rock track. For Matt it's about picking up where he left off in Virginia where the car showed marked improvement with the development of the new Camaro and for Owen the pace of the cars has been there, they are now looking to finish the race where they start, at the front!"

Dion von Moltke is considered one of GRAND-AM’s brightest stars. Von Moltke is currently in second place in points for GRAND-AM’s Rookie of the Year and this weekend’s race could catapult him into the lead. Throughout this season, von Moltke will be driving the #77 McDonalds/South African Airways/PR Newswire Ford Dallara. For von Moltke, the challenge is to show fans in the Northeast the same level of professionalism and expertise that has earned him one of the strongest followings amongst GRAND-AM fans.

"I am really excited to finally get back into action after a four week hiatus,” said Dion von Moltke, running the #77 Doran Racing Ford/Dallara Daytona Prototype with co-driver Memo Gidley. Luckily I kept very busy on the off weeks by going back home and keeping very active in different sports and activites such as surfing, bungee jumping, rock climbing, rappelling I even climbed table mountain! But nothing comes close to the rush of driving the PR Newswire/ South African Airways/ McDonalds Doran Racing #77 Ford Dallara! It will be crucial to roll off the transporter with the right setup there and I have complete faith in our engineers and crew guys that we will do just that!"

Owen Trinkler spearheaded the development of the GT2 Corvette that ran in the ALMS in 2000. This is his second full season with RSR Motorsports in the Mini Cooper S. He has consulted and trained for Audi, Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Panoz, and Subaru. He was selected as one of the 25 young Drivers in the USA to participate in the distinguished Team Green's Indy Car Academy Scholarship. In 2009 Trinkler qualified in Pole Position on two occasions and had a season-best finish of 4th place at Barber Motorsports Park while leading laps in a number of races for his RSR Motorsports team in the Mini Cooper S race car. This is in addition to the two pole positions he earned for the same team in the 2008 racing season, but shadows in comparison to his many racing accomplishments. This season has been disappointing for Trinkler who is looking towards this weekend as the opportunity to begin his comeback.

"We are interested to see our continued progress in the Mini from Virginia”, said Owen Trinkler, running the #196 RSR Motorsports Mini Cooper S in Continental Tire Challenge Series with co-drivers Randy Smalley and Dicky Riegel. We've been working very hard on the reliability of the cars, the pace has been good all season, so we're just trying to put the pieces together to give our team and stable of drivers the opportunity to bring home the hardware this weekend and for the balance of the season. Randy has been completely committed to giving us the tools to make sure we're able to compete at the highest level for our sponsors, and we feel this is a good circuit for us. We've run very well at Lime Rock in the past and are ready to show off the latest developments to the car and give the fans a good show. I'm really excited for this event and for the outlook on the balance of the season."

Matt Bell is becoming one of the fan’s favorite racers. This year he has been performing strong and is driving the Stevenson Camaro throughout the 2010 season. For Bell, the challenge is to continue to demonstrate the strong potential and skill that he has shown so far this season coming off of the long hiatus between races.

"I'm excited to head back to Lime Rock this weekend, it is a magical place for me”, said Matt Bell, running the #6 Stevenson Motorsports Chevy Camaro in Continental Tire Challenge Series with co-driver Jeff Bucknum. It's a beautiful circuit and region of the country regardless of weather, which at times can be unpredictable at best. It is one of the few tracks on the schedule that I know enough to feel comfortable hopping in my car and pushing to find the limits straight away. I have always loved the rhythm of Lime Rock Park and am very happy to round the tiny course again, especially in the Camaro.

Stevenson Motorsports has been hard at work to make this car the best it can be, and is a pleasure working with a first-class team like this. We're equally happy that P1 Groupe was able to put me in such a good situation to continue the development of my career and giving me a great foundation to build off of. I'm going into this weekend with a great gut feeling, and am ready to get behind the wheel!"

The drivers will be headed to Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen, New York on June 5, 2010. Keep your eyes on our line-up of drivers as they continue to pave the way towards their respective career and season goals in the blazing fashion you’ve become accustomed to seeing them do.
