KPO Sector to See 25-30% Growth, But Where Are the Analysts

Mumbai, Maharashtra -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/20/2010 -- There used to be a time when an MBA, in fact any MBA could get you a job. Because of the response from the job market to MBA graduates, colleges and institutes started opening up all over the country. It became and still is perhaps, one of the most sought after degrees amongst all students, regardless of what Bachelors degrees they hold. What is changing now though is the growing popularity of specialized courses.

The KPO industry, in particular, is in focus as India slowly but steadily moves closer to being the world’s KPO hub. Currently this market space is estimated to be worth US$ 50-70 million. And the growth prediction for this sector is looking extremely good! According to Gartner, a global research company, we are going to see growth of 25-30% by 2013. So it logically follows that the rising demand is going to be for the backbone of this industry – people. And that’s where the problem lies – a severe paucity of trained research and data analysts.

Let’s take a look at the current KPO hiring trend. So far the KPO industry has been attracting professionals from different streams, with no real requirement for specialization. But can this trend continue in a growing sector that sees an extremely high attrition rate? Probably not.

The reasons for specialization are simple and logical –

• Specialised degrees are the only way to ensure quality while we strive to meet the demand for trained data and research analysts which has to go from 40,000 to 100,000 in 2 years

• Preference will be given to job-seekers who have specialized degrees vs generic degree holders

(In 2 years time, we will see a new breed of analysts, experts in their field of knowledge processing, far better prepared than any fresher or medical/law/business degree holder, and far more dedicated to the science of information management)

• And predictably, in 5 years time – only those with a specialized degree will be able to get a KPO job

This is what N-CARE's MBA course is designed to do - supply highly trained and professional analysts to KPOs, and therefore ensuring India continues to have an edge in this highly competitive market over countries like Philippines and Brazil. The founders and faculty, all experienced KPO professionals, have tried to make sure the course curriculum is extremely intensive. And they have partnered with KPO companies like, SAP, HP, HCL, Accenture, amongst many others to give their students a 100% pre-placement guarantee.

Admissions are open for N-CARE’s BBA (3 years) and MBA (2 years) courses. You can catch them at the My Career and Education Fair and the Global Gurukul Education Fair.
