SMS Celebrated 64th Independence Day

 

Varanasi, U.P -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/25/2010 -- SMS celebrates 64th Independence Day with great zeal and verve. Former Central Minister & Member of Parliament, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi was the Chief Guest of the Independence Day programme Inauguration of the new fully A.C. Academic Block in SMS

Prestigious Management Institute, School of Management Sciences, Varanasi celebrated the 64th Independence Day with great zeal and verve. Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi former Central Minister and M.P. was the Chief Guest of the occasion. After the flag hoisting ceremony Dr. Joshi said that he is among those few people who were borne in pre-independence India. Dr. Joshi further said that people of those days had certain dreams and aims for the country. It still remains a debatable question whether those dreams and aims have been fulfilled in these 64 years of independence. Dr. Joshi further opined that we have to view the world not as a market but as a family, otherwise the very objective of free India will not be attained. Dr. Joshi reiterated that the ethical values and spirituality should be given prominencein the management education. It will assist in building a cooperative society rather than a competitive society, Dr. Joshi appreciated the work being done by SMS in imparting valuebased education to the students to give India its future.Earlier Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS, Varanasi welcomed former Central Minister and M.P., Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi.

While addressing the faculty members and students, Prof. Jha urged the students to remember the value of independence and fulfil their responsibilities towards the society and the nation as a whole. On this auspicious occasion of Independence Day the newly constructed fully A.C. academic block was also inaugurated by Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi.

The students performed colourful and mesmerising cultural programme. It included patriotic songs & speeches, group dance as well as the cultural show depicting the emotions of the students.

At the end of the programme the Chief Guest, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi was felicitated by Dr.M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary, SMS with a shawl and memento. On this occasion, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Registrar, Faculty members, staff and students were also present.
