Amongst patients celebrating their new found freedom from obesity is Gold Coast local Richard Paterson. Richard is a single dad who suffered from the many side effects of morbid obesity before his surgery. Just 2 months post surgery, he has lost over 23 kgs and under the care of his general practitioner, has already ceased 5 out of 7 medications that he was taking to treat a range of obesity related illnesses. He is now about to take up cricket for the first time in many years and is living life to the fullest. His newest hobby is photography, which he tells us, gives him more motivation to rise early, go for a walk and capture the amazing sunrises and other scenery of our beautiful Gold Coast region. He is now the role model he wants to be for his son.
