Are some dormant Egyptian mummies that have slept quietly for countless millennia beginning to stir behind the walls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art this winter? Maybe so, according to NYC's Ghost Doctors!
New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/07/2015 -- Sprawled across a hallway within NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art are ancient Egyptian parchments called the "Book of the Dead." These mystical scrolls detailed this ancient civilization's all consuming obsession with the afterlife. Could their beliefs be more than just elaborate superstition? They just might be, says New York's Ghost Doctors.
Peter and Stew Kandel (known as Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) noted paranormal investigators aka New York's own "Ghost Doctors" conduct ghost hunting expeditions through the Met and have found some unusual findings within this iconic museum. And recently while exploring one of the galleries in the Egyptian wing –- akin to scene right from a blockbuster mummy movie -– something strange happened.
"We picked up some unusual readings on one of our instruments while searching through an isolated gallery in the Egyptian wing. As part of our protocol we always take photos to document our investigations. So we took out our camera, ready to shoot off a few pics and then suddenly the batteries were completely drained. They were fully charged just a few minutes ago and are now...dead," says Dr. Stew.
According to the Ghost Doctors this phenomena is well known throughout the paranormal community.
"During investigations power sources such as battery packs can suddenly drain for no apparent reason in areas of suspected paranormal activity," says Dr. Pete. "That's why we're always ready for any contingency -- spare batteries, redundant instruments and especially a willingness to always be ready for the unexpected."
In fact to expect the unexpected is one of the themes the Ghost Doctors impart upon their groups of adventurous explorers. After being drilled in the basics of ghost hunting 101 including the use of all sorts of paranormal gadgetry, these newly trained ghost hunters are lead through the museum on a supernatural quest to cross paths with ancient Egyptian, Roman or even some fashionable French Renaissance ghostly residents.
So the next time you see two intrepid paranormal investigators leading a group of amateur ghost hunters through some dimly lit Egyptian gallery, don't worry about the rising of some ancient mystical mummy -- the Ghost Doctors got your back!
