Lake Como, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/29/2015 -- While many think beach towns shut down between September and June, they manage to keep themselves very busy with a variety of events. A look at a calendar will show that Belmar has plenty of events going on throughout January and February, ranging from races to live performances. As a constant hot spot for activity, Paul's Tavern has announced a series of events to close out this January.
The weekend gets started at Paul's Tavern with their Friday Steak Night. For $15, patrons will receive a 12oz. NY Strip and a 10oz. draft beer or soda. On Fridays, they also have a special on Corona Beer Fish and Chips for just $7.50. Both of these meals are also on special on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Saturday starts off early at Paul's Tavern with the Marlboro School of Rock at 11am. The program is part of a growing international program that works to inspire children to rock on stage and in life. They help kids develop confidence and musicianship through classes designed for every skill level. After everyone has assembled, they will begin with an introduction to the Rock genre in their Rock 101 class. After the class, take a deeper look at some of the genre's most influential names like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. During the School of Rock, children have the opportunity to take place in a live performance of a song on Paul's Tavern's stage in The Sound Garden. Those who miss the session on January 31st will have another chance to participate in a three-hour version of the School of Rock on Sunday, February 8th.
After the Marlboro School of Rock ends on the 31st, there is only an hour break before things pick back up at Paul's Tavern. At 6:30pm, Frankie V & Mikey Sides (Team Rockaset) take the stage for a night filled with great live music. Complementing their music, there will also be performances from The Wage Grade, Liars & Legends, Tilted, Broken Angels, and Ryan Zimmerman. Tickets for the show will be either $10 or $12, depending on when they are purchased. Those interested in attending the event put on by DAA Entertainment must be at least 21 years old.
