Shenzhen, China -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/09/2015 -- Since they are so compact and lightweight, tablets and smartphones provide a tremendous amount of convenience. They do present problems, however, with typing and navigation. On-screen keyboards and navigation bars are difficult to use and Bluetooth keyboards are too small. The result is slow input, sluggish navigation and lots of typos.
Fang Liu, founder of Shenzhen Yitaide Technology, Des Plaines, Ill., has the solution. It's Nulaxy, a plug-in Bluetooth keyboard adapter that enables you to use your old keyboard and mouse with virtually any mobile device.
"Nulaxy is incredibly easy to use," says Liu. "Just plug in a wired keyboard and mouse, turn on Nulaxy, pair it via Bluetooth to your device and enter the pin code. You can then use your keyboard to type on your tablet or smartphone."
Nulaxy technology saves the expense of buying a full-size Bluetooth keyboard and makes for a more comfortable typing experience for the user, who is able to type and navigate with a familiar mouse and keyboard. This new device can be charged with micro USB charger or powered by two AAA batteries.
Liu and his technical team have been working on this project for more than one year. "It all started when I got tired of typing with a Bluetooth keyboard on my new iPad," he says. "I had been using my old Dell keyboard with my PC for years and I wanted to be able to use that keyboard for my Bluetooth-enabled devices."
Nulaxy has been tested is almost ready to market. A manufacturer is in place but Liu still needs to refine the tooling, purchase mass production materials and obtain certifications for Bluetooth, European Community marking (CE) and FCC. This cost is estimated to be $25,000.
In order to generate this capital, Liu has launched an Indiegogo campaign, which can be viewed at www.indiegogo.com/projects/nulaxy-keyboard-mouse-bluetooth-adapter
Donations of any amount are welcome. For a $28 contribution, backers will receive the Nulaxy adapter. Shipping is free to the U.S. and $8 for international sales. A bulk discount ($2,500 for 150 adapters, less than $17 per unit) is available for retailers and dealers.
Nulaxy can also be pre-ordered through Amazon at www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T5YXNL0/keywords=bluetooth+keyboard+mouse+adapter
"This is an economical way to upgrade your old equipment and improve your typing and navigation," Liu says. "It's an investment that will save you time, money and aggravation."
