Rockaway, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/28/2010 -- Halloween costumes and party supplies mega-retailer Party City is placing a store in Carbondale's University Place Shopping Center, joining T.J. Maxx and Chili's restaurant as the newest retailers in the former K-mart building, now fully occupied and completely remodeled. The Party City store is scheduled to open its doors just prior to Halloween, which for Party City is the biggest shopping holiday of the year.
"Party City is a leader in the party goods industry and is the country's premiere holiday specialty retailer," said Carbondale Mayor Brad Cole. "As the national and state economies continue to struggle, we are very excited to see this new store become a reality, bringing yet another well-known name to invest in Carbondale's retail market."
DLC Management Company, which manages University Place Shopping Center, confirms that Party City has signed a lease with the intention of opening the new store next to Dick's Sporting Goods by September 2010.
