It will serve over 350,000 people surrounding the lake in Catawba County, Burke County, Caldwell County and Alexander County, and will attract tourism from around the greater Catawba Valley region. Lake Hickory Adventures is raising $11,500 right now via Kickstarter by offering Founding Sponsor recognition and complimentary cruise admission to people who back the project before tickets go on sale in April.
Lake Hickory Adventures has the unique credential of being the only travel service provider that offers dinner, party, and private charter boat cruises on North Carolina's picturesque Lake Hickory. In fact, they will be the only leisure activity actually on Lake Hickory and as such will satisfy a great need in the region. They will provide a much needed recreation, dining and leisure activity cruising the lake that covers an area of over 4,000 acres in the Catawba Valley. Lake Hickory Adventures is a must see attraction and a perfect blend of recreation, entertainment, site seeing, leisure, mouth-watering dining, and social experience.
Dinner and leisure cruises from Lake Hickory Adventures will offer 'all you can' eat food and beverages provided by Village Inn Lakeside & Lakeside Tavern. Custom turn-key catering is also available for private charter cruises. All non-Sunday cruises will have beer and wine available on-board. Travellers interested in extending their experience can spend some quality time before and after the cruise at Village Inn Lakeside & Lakeside Tavern.

The total funding requirement for this project to get the boat into operation is $97,000. This amount will be spent by Lake Hickory Adventures on acquiring, transporting, up-fitting, registering, and insuring their vessel. The company wishes to raise around 10% of this amount via their Kickstarter campaign.
Additional funds will be collected through small business financing and pre-season ticket sales starting April, 2015.
The funding target for the Kickstarter campaign is $11,500, and this amount must be raised by April 7, 2015.
