Synopsis of 'From a Criminal Mind to the Mind of Christ':
Grace - the undeserved favor of God. But will His grace be sufficient in our lives in our most desperate times of need? Yes! In this dynamic, inspiring testimony you will see how the grace of God kept and preserved Melody Wolfe through incarceration, mental illness, crime and addiction. You will discover how Jesus, the Word of God according to John chapter one, heals and rescues us from the domain of darkness and sets our spirits free to rejoice in God's holy presence.
At the age of 22, Melody was sentenced to serve a two-years-less-a-day sentence in a local correctional facility. By the age of 24, she had spent a total of twenty-one months in jail. She was diagnosed with mental illness and spent years in recovery. After the death of her husband, she lost custody of both of her daughters and was ensnared by addiction. Following an almost fatal suicide attempt, Melody was admitted into a psychiatric facility. It was there that she experienced the love of Christ in a powerful way.
Melody is now serving the Lord Jesus in her church and community. She is an advocate for persons living with mental illness and has a deep desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Melody has since been restored to her family.
"At one time I had given up; I felt hopeless, worthless and decided I'd be better off dead," admits Wolfe, a leading member of Living Hope Community Church. "But the Lord Jesus Christ transformed my life into one of fruitful purpose and good character. I'm not special; anyone can do the same."
Continuing, "My book tells the entire story, chock-full of scripture and Bible-based truths that readers can use as a guide for their own transformation under the loving watchful eye of the Lord. I hope to encourage people not to turn a blind eye to God, and to know that He is aware of and sympathizes with any hurt afflicting them."
Wolfe sees wide appeal for her work.
"This volume is a powerful teaching resource that has its place in every home, school, church and community center. It will also assist individuals who work with inmates and those involved in crime – whether on the bad side, or those preventing it. Everyone's heart can be blessed in the same way mine was, and this book is the perfect catalyst," she concludes.
