Pittsfield, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/05/2010 -- The K2010 exhibition will provide an opportunity for Songwon to demonstrate its continued commitment to the polymers industry through its key initiatives of providing customers security of supply, focusing on economy of scale and backward integration, developing and innovating its product portfolio, creating a global presence, delivering One-Pack Systems (OPS) and complying with current and future product regulations. Songwon today is the second largest producer of antioxidants with a total capacity of 55.000 tons. Songwon can ensure security of supply and high quality with full backward integration and economy of scale. Songwon is positioned to be the partner of choice in the supply of essential additives. Isobutylene is a key raw material in the production of the main antioxidants and Songwon’s capacity has been expanded by more than 30 percent to reach 40,000 mt/y. Moreover, Songwon will continue to invest as needed.
At the K2010 exhibition, Songwon will be announcing an expansion of its antioxidants manufacturing capacity. This is evidence of Songwon’s understanding of the needs of the market and commitment to step up to meet those needs.
Today Songwon offers one of the most complete ranges of polymer stabilizers and has introduced 30 products to the marketplace since 2006; the latest addition is a unique ultraviolet (UV) synergistic blend which was launched in May 2010.
Another announcement Songwon will be making at K2010 concerns the establishment of a joint venture with a leading Chinese thioester manufacturer which will give Songwon access to a wide product range of thioesters with a total capacity of 6,000 tons fully back-integrated. The introduction of Songwon’s own range of optical brighteners is an additional example of Songwon’s continued investment in the development of its product porfolio.
Songwon’s R&D team and Application Group are dedicated to the continuous development of new polymer additives and at K2010 will demonstrate some of their latest technologies:
