Wilmington, DE -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/07/2015 -- This past March, Monster Tree Service of Brandywine Valley, a tree service company based in Wilmington, DE, donated its services to help Tyler Arboretum with their Historic Painter Plants Exhibit. With Monster Tree Service of Brandywine Valley's help, Tyler Arboretum is one step closer to showcasing their history and the legacy of the Painter brothers.
According to the Arboretum's website, when brothers Minshall and Jacob Painter inherited what was to become the Tyler Arboretum in the mid-1800s, they made their love of horticulture known. They planted over a thousand plants to both enjoy and study, which would soon make their home known as the "Painters Arboretum." However, it wasn't until the 1930s, that the property would become dubbed the "Tyler Arboretum."
In order for the Tyler horticulturists to start constructing the new exhibit, they needed to have some trees removed. To help, Monster Tree Service of Brandywine Valley graciously offered their services free of charge. Since the trees have been removed, Tyler horticulturists are working hard to reproduce the "living laboratory," of plant rows that the Painter brothers created almost 200 years ago. With this new exhibit, the owners of the Arboretum hope to provide their guests with a look into Tyler Arboretum's past. They also hope that it will help rouse an interest in Tyler's rich history.
The owner of Monster Tree Service of Brandywine Valley, Steve Hassall, recognized the gem of an arboretum that is Tyler and chose to take on the project free of charge. By doing so, he also helped Tyler Arboretum gain the opportunity to take their small budget a bit further.
Another way that Monster Tree Service of Brandywine Valley is showing their support of Tyler Arboretum this year is by being a 2015 "Tyler at Twilight Auction" sponsor. This large fundraising event will take place on Thursday, June 18th, 2015 from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. At this event, not only will guests be able to enjoy the scenery the Arboretum provides, but there will be entertainment, cocktails, and of course, live and silent auctions.
