Last year the price of moving house rose by £431 in the UK, which brought the average total figure of moving costs (including estate agent costs, surveying etc.) to £8,698. This was notably an increase up from £8,258 in 2013 and figures which were as low as £7,552 in 2004.
The results mean that last year the UK spent approximately £7.5bn on moving homes – which could be seen as a significant £1bn more than in 2013.
