Mettler Toledo Unveils Weighing Terminal for Hazardous-Area Use IND226x Enables Flexibility and Efficiency

Mettler Toledo is pleased to announce its IND226x, a compact weighing terminal approved for installation in Zone 1/21 and Division 1 classified hazardous areas.

Greifensee, Zurich -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/23/2010 -- Compact and flexible, the intrinsically safe IND226x can be connected with analog floor or bench scales and analog load cells for any kind of hazardous area weighing operation. The IND226x also comes with a battery option allowing for mobile weighing solutions even within Zone 1&/21 and Division 1 areas. It is designed to withstand the harshest of industrial environments featuring a robust stainless steel construction and IP66 protection.

Mettler Toledo's safe area ACM200 communication module expands the communication options of the IND226x to connect it with PCs and printers located in the safe area. Users now have the ability to Tare, Clear or use the Zero function of the indicator safely and quickly from outside of the hazardous zone. The IND226x can also be connected to a Profibus network, allowing for quick and easy communication with your network.

In combination with Mettler Toledo's IND780 weighing indicator, the IND226x can act as a remote display that provides communication and monitoring of process data to and from the hazardous area. Clear, Zero and Tare operations are also possible on the local IND226x in the classified area. The same option is also available in combination with another IND226x with no need for a barrier in between the two weighing indicators.
