PolyVisions Inc., the leading firm in the innovation and production of thermoplastic compounded materials for industry, announced today that its engineering staff has produced a high-durability, lower-cost product to be globally released under the trade name DuraPET.
Manchester, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/03/2015 -- The new polyethylene terephthalate material is a graft-modified polyester plastic resin capable of withstanding temperatures from -40°F to more than 180°F. It has a variety of applications in thermoforming, injection molding, specialty packaging, film production and other industrial uses.
"DuraPET is a tremendous addition to the range of compounded solutions we already manufacture," said Scott B. Howard, CEO of PolyVisions Inc. "We believe DuraPET offers value as an extraordinarily durable product which we can provide to our clients at a cost less than competing materials."
PolyVisions DuraPET product can be manufactured using up to 80% by weight recycled PET. As consumer demands for high recycled content grow, PolyVisions products are a bigger and bigger part of the solution. PolyVisions is a leading processor of post-consumer and post-industrial PET polymer. Their proprietary polymer grafting technology enables them to produce materials from recycled feed streams without sacrificing physical or melting properties. DuraPET is the perfect solution for environmentally responsible manufacturers who can't sacrifice the structural properties of their product.
