In the beginning of May, When In Need Foundation's Chief Executive Officer Ms. Chetachi Ecton led the team on a Mission of Mercy Tour to the Ranfurly Homes for Children in the Bahamas. The home has been a safe sanctuary for thousands of Bahamian children since 1956, when the haven was created as a result of a fire in the mid-1950s in Nassau. The organization presented the home with supplies, food and other necessities for the children to bring joy to the hearts of the young residents.
The foundation continued its Mission of Mercy Tour to The Bahamas Children's Emergency Hostel, where temporary accommodations and necessities are provided for neglected and abandoned children until a permanent arrangement can be made for their wellbeing. When In Need Foundation brought smiles to the children by donating provisions, supplies and food that was much needed to the hostel.
In addition, the When In Need Foundation visited a residential care facility in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, called the Provo Children's Home. The organization donated much needed supplies and household items to the facility as they shared fellowship and joy with the children and staff. The orphanage was originally called Nissi House but was destroyed by Hurricane Hannah and Ike and rebuilt as an institution by Tanis Wake-Forbes and other caring people. The home now has a 20-bed facility with caregiver suites and two emergency placement rooms that help any children in the country in need.
The When In Need Foundation provides education assistance to children of Africa and other parts of the world. Their Mission of Mercy objective is to assist individuals in need in Africa and beyond with health and education obstacles as a foundation serving the global community.
