Risks on the Road and Cycling: Zen Law Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/15/2015 -- According to a recent report, although safety on the roads is improving as a whole, an area not declining is the number of cyclists involved in road accidents. The findings were made through a combined research effort from the all-party Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety and the RAC Foundation. Although road deaths and serious injuries as a whole fell between 2010 and 2013, there were significant increases regarding cycling injuries with an increase of 16% when the 2009 average was compared with the 2013 average.

Furthermore, it is anticipated that the number of cyclists being injured on the roads is still increasing, especially as traffic numbers rise. The rise of dashcams to monitor traffic around cyclists, suggests that there has also been an increased focus by cyclists on the rising risks posed by the road.

About Zen Law
Zen Law are a key group of legal professionals, specialising in accident claims and personal injury legislation from a Manchester base. They are also frequent commentators on industry news and were quick to reflect on the increasing attention drawn again to the issue of cycling safety.

"We think that although the number of serious injuries and fatalities declining is good news, this should not mean that the rise of cyclists injured should go under-addressed," A spokesperson said "What is ultimately essential, is that if you are involved in an accident or face injury due to the fault of another – with car drivers' negligence often leading to cyclists being wrongly implicated and even injured– it is crucial that you as an individual get the legal support you deserve.

That cycling still continues to be an area in which people are injured on the roads suggests that there are many who deserve proper legal support. We urge anyone involved in an accident on the road, whether involving a bike, car or pedestrian, to seek professional legal advice for their circumstances. It is cataloguing and considering the details properly and working forwards for justice, which may hopefully be a contribution to cutting down the number of cyclists injured."
