Plano, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/13/2010 -- This week, Plano photographer Larry Lourcey unveiled his new website, which was quite a break from the normal online brochure:
These days, most websites are basically just online brochures - a one-way interaction between the business and their customers. Plano portrait photographer Larry Lourcey decided it was time to change up the process and started by totally reworking his photography website.
“I wanted something more interactive.” says Lourcey. “I wanted to show people my images, but also give them a way to communicate back.” Instead of a flashy, traditional website, Lourcey opted for a more blog-based setup.
“Basically, it is a blog on steroids.” says Lourcey. “All the updated content of a blog, but still with plenty of image content.”
Lourcey feels that with the current trends in social media, it is important that people rethink the way they market their business. By switching to a blog-based site, he is able to keep all of his content fresh and up-to-date.
Although he is best know for his portrait photography of families and children, Larry has also made a name for himself as a photographic teacher - speaking at photography conventions from Florida to Montana. In addition to teaching photographic techniques, he has been spreading the word about how photographers can best use social media to market their business and stay in touch with their clients.
