The operating system update will focus more on the user experience and the performance. And what is special in this announcement of Apple which was done during the Worldwide Developers Conference is that the big performance boost in improving Adobe's Creative Cloud software.
The OS X El Capitan will include in its update the Metal framework of Apple which can render graphics 40 times more efficient than the usual OpenGL, could reduce CPU loading and improve the battery life. In addition to this, Adobe has announced that it will adopt the Metal framework in its entire OS X apps for the reason that its test with their Adobe Effects has showed astonishing 8 times improvement in terms of rendering. Thus, no matter how intricate the adobe after effects templates to be used, the rendering will not be affected. However, there is still no concrete details as to what improvements will be made on this switch where millions of photographers depends their graphic works on Photoshop.
This new version of OS X is expected to build the strengths of Yosemite with "real refinements". The said latest operating system will be made available as a developer beta for the meantime and will be a public beta in summer. And in autumn, the El Capitan will be available worldwide for download. According to Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federaghi, the El Capitan has the following exciting features:
- Finding the curser is made easy – users do not have to shake their mouse or rub the keypad to see the whereabouts of the curser because it will enlarge momentarily so people will not miss it.
- 'Pin' favorite sites – Users can now 'pin' the sites they want to visit again thanks to Safari's new option in saving sites. The pinned sites will be placed at the left corner of the screen. But what makes it super cool is that users will be able to know which site plays the audio or not.
- Spotlight – These special features will help users tracked down the documents they have written months ago. Even the weather reports and sports score can be traced down by Spotlight.
- Multitasking with Mail – the mail has now a full screen mode where users can compose emails even if they opened multiple email tabs. They can move from one email to another without affecting the other emails opened.
- Mission control – this will help people manage their desktop in times that they want to open several documents and apps at the same time.
- Split Screen view – this allows users to see apps side by side without worrying that the quality of the pixels will be affected.
These are some of the features that the El Capitan possesses which will surely improve the user experience. Though there are rumors that the latest OS X update focuses mainly on stability and security, consumers should not be worry because more features will be added that will surely make graphic designing and other computer tasks more exciting.
