The AASBC has created a new international certification for individuals seeking to become small business and SME consultants authenticating that they have the necessary skills and experience.
Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/08/2015 -- Small business and SME (small to medium-sized business) owners love what they do, have a passion for their work, and want to provide the world with a service it doesn't already have or in a way no one has previously delivered it. While these are great goals, it takes more than hard work and persistence to make a business successful. Expert consultants specializing in small businesses and SMEs can assist owners in overcoming typical business obstacles that impede success. Becoming a small business or SME consultant takes a wide diversity of knowledge and the ability to mentor business owners who lack core competencies to successfully operate their businesses. With its new international designation, the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants (AASBC) is now offering professional consultants or those aspiring to become consultants in the global community the opportunity to become an Accredited SME Consultant (ASMEC). Richard L. Weinberger, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, of the AASBC, states, "This new designation for international members better describes how "small businesses" are referred to outside of the U.S. Our worldwide members have requested a certification that is specific to SME consultants, and we are now satisfying the needs of our international members and their clients."
The new certification will be recognized in the worldwide market and gives consultants the knowledge and skill set required to assist SMEs regardless of location, economy, or business environment. The AASBC also offers a Master Accredited SME Consultant certification for the most experienced and advanced consultants.
"Just as cultural differences exist across country borders, so do descriptions of how businesses are generally referred to...small business or SME...one and the same. The international offering is designed to ensure that all those receiving the certification have met the exact same standards as U.S. accredited consultants and gives them a distinct international designation," says Dr. Weinberger.
Dr. Weinberger also states, "Whether a business is referred to as a micro business, small business, or SME, the goal is the same for any owner...improve operational efficiency, maximize profit, and take the business from 'stagnation to elevation.' But, they usually can't do it alone. They need someone to help shape the future of their business. They need an Accredited SME Consultant."
